Benefits Consultations
HMA Direct offers actuarial and underwriting insurance consultation
services to assist companies to make educated decisions regarding
benefit plans for their employees. Our Account Executives closely follow
industry changes and competitive products, and provide up to date,
accurate information about the benefit alternatives available to
businesses. HMA Direct provides employers with access to a state
of the art Electron Risk Assessment System (E-RAS) for eligibility and
enrolment.
HMA Direct Account Executives undergo intensive
industry and product training, in addition to being licensed insurance
agents. The array of options in health insurance plans can be complex
and confusing, and it is our mission to walk our clients through the
selection process step by step, explaining the alternatives and
providing guidance.
Actuarial Consulting
Among our competitors, we are one of the very few that provide actuarial
analysis and consulting, which affords us unique perspectives in the
area of Alternative Risk Transfer mechanisms. HMA Direct offers Risk
Assessment Surveys to assist companies in determining if they are good
candidate for a flexible funded group health plan. Our
underwriters conduct Risk Assessment Surveys in order to provide
candidates with accurate premium quotes.
Benefit Plan Design, Consulting and Implementation
Starting with your current plan documents, we will carefully review all
specifications and develop a fully customized benefit program for your
company. During implementation, we use a rigorous quality control
process when setting up your plan on our systems to assure efficient and
accurate administrative management.
Management Reporting
We provide comprehensive reports illustrating exactly where healthcare
plan payment dollars are going. Based on these reports and others, our
client management team will provide scheduled ongoing consultations to
demonstrate how to further reduce costs.
HSA and HRA plans
In addition to more traditional benefit programs, we offer HSA Qualified
Health Plans to clients interested in this option, recently made
available by Federal Legislation. We also offer HRA plans, as well
as other Alternative Benefit plans, and first dollar wellness programs.

The customer service team at HMA Direct is an integral part of your
company's benefits department. Our customer service
representatives are experienced insurance professionals who will assist
callers with any concerns or questions, regarding plan provisions,
eligibility or claims. Our claims associates are available to
assist covered individuals with any technical claims or benefit
verification questions, and we always make sure your employees are
treated with the respect and courtesy they deserve. We provide
around the clock self-service capabilities, both to employers and to
their employees through state of the art web enabled systems.

Disease Management and Wellness Programs
HMA Direct provides its clients access to dynamic programs that look for
solvable medical problems before they lead to catastrophic
hospitalizations. These programs are proven to help patients stay
well longer, stay on the job, and reduce over-all health plan costs.
Through these programs, employees receive the attention, dedication and
attention they deserve.
Pharmacy Benefit Management
Through our business partners we offer a full service RX program which
includes home delivery service. This benefit program returns 100%
of collected manufacturers' formulary rebates, as well as market share
rebates, to our clients plans. We have also incorporated the expertise
of medical doctors and clinical pharmacists by offering a three-tiered
formulary approach emphasizing high quality generic and brand-name
medications. The first tier is made up of generic drugs. The
second tier consists of drugs on a preferred formulary list. These
preferred formulary medications are selected to provide a high level of
prescription benefit while also controlling pharmaceutical costs.
The third tier includes all other covered drugs. This program
features a $0 co-pay for generics purchased at Costco or by mail order.
COBRA Administration
Through our integrated system we will coordinate, prepare and issue
COBRA notices, track election periods, notify your company and the COBRA
participants of election, or declination, monitor the COBRA
coverage period, and collect premium directly from COBRA participants.
5500 Preparation
Form 5500s are filed with the Department of Labor every year. We
will prepare the required annual form based on the information prepared
by you and captured by us.
